Reincarnation

Reincarnation - The Paranormal Society www.theparanormalsociety.orgHave you ever had memories of a past life, memories of vivid pictures of places or even events? Have you ever dreamed of being a different person at a different time period?  Reincarnation may explain some the reason why many have memories of some past life such as events with detail memories of places and people. It could even explain why some have moments of déjà vu.
So, what is reincarnation?  Reincarnation is the belief that when a person dies, the body is no longer capable of housing the soul and it decomposes. However, the soul is reborn in another body.  Thus, reincarnation is when the soul of a person is reborn in another body after death. The body is what houses the soul and many Eastern religions believe that in reincarnation the body does not need to be human.  One could be reincarnated as an animal such as a cow or horse.  The soul only needs a body to pass in or out of.  If we understand that our body and our soul are two separate entities, it is then that we can understand the concept of reincarnated.   So, what is the soul?
The soul of man is the consciousness.  What is consciousness?  Consciousness is the ability to be aware of the things that surround you. It is your unique thoughts, memories, feelings, sensations, and the environment that surrounds you. What makes awareness unique is your perception or how you as an individual take in information through the mind. This aspect of man is spiritual. This spiritual aspect is the invisible part of a man or woman.  This is what we call the spirit or ghost.  The body on the other hand is the physical part that expresses the spiritual part or the soul, and therefore without a body one cannot exist physically in this physical realm. This is the reason why in many Eastern religion beliefs the soul seeks to be reincarnated. The soul will seek to live in this physical realm. What about past memories of places, people and events?  How does reincarnation play a role?  Well in the Bible of the book of Ecclesiastes 1:9, it tells us that, “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.”   Does this mean that the soul that once was shall be again as in reincarnation?  If there is nothing new under the sun, then does this mean the soul of man is not new but what many of us call an “old soul” that has come back countless of times?  If so, then it is possible that memories of past events is carried on as an imprint on the soul and is become a reflection of things of the past life in the new body.  It is possible that they are the reflections of the faces of loved ones that made an impact in that lifetime or they are memories of a place where special events happened.   Déjà vu is a French word that means already seen.  Reincarnation would make it possible for a déjà vu experience if the person walks into a place that they have been in in a past life.   What about dreams?  I can recall a dream I have had where I was a soldier at war.  There were thick trees, high grass and water all around me.  I was dressed in uniform with my gun in my hand ready to use it at any time.  In this dream the soldier or I was hiding under water from the enemy that was making his way toward me.  I could remember that I could not breathe and I gasped for air.  When I woke up from the dream, I was still gasping for air and looking around as if I had been there.  Is this a past life event that I had dreamed?  Was I, who being a woman, a man in this past life?  Was this how I had died, as a victim of war?  In understanding the concept of reincarnation, it is possible that my soul held on to a memory of this past life.  It would be possible then that I was a man, perhaps a soldier.  But in any situation of some past life, I had returned.
