The Bell Witch is probably the most well-known ghost story, or "Legend", in American history. The family of a local farmer named John Bell was tormented for nearly four years by a malevolent spirit. The family experienced disembodied voices, unbelievable violence, apparitions and even resulted in the death of John Bell - all at the hands of the Bell Witch.
Legend has it that if you visit the cave located on the property and venture deep inside, you will begin to hear the screeching laughter of the Bell Witch. If you continue further, you will feel her presence near you and will eventually see her apparition. It is rumored that if you do not head her warning to leave, she will attack. People claim to have see her and have been attacked by her. One account of a man claims that he experienced the above phenomena and was attcked. He decided to go into the cave to test the legend. He claims that the minute he entered the cave, he began to feel as if he were being watched. AS he traveled further into the cave, he felt a presence near him. Soon after, he began to hear noises that he described as screetching and laughter. Being frightened, he fled from the cave and when he got outside, he noticed scratches on his chest and back. The Bell Plantation is located in Adams, TN. The cave is open to the public from May 1st to October 31st, 10am-5pm.
There have been some reports of The Bell Witch in the cave, and this legend is as old as they come. If you visit or have visited in the past, please post your findings here.

I was wondering what did you experience? Did you go down the cave? If so, how far? What did you sense about the witch? Do you know her name? Great pictures. The place looks very nice and inviting. But what about night time? Thank you Kristian
