OK, we make it a point to not bash other websites, but I felt the need to warn everybody about this one. There's a particular website out there that shows episodes of paranormal tv shows, including Ghost Adventures. The site is called "Extreme Ghost Hunters" and they're just crooks. I just wanna say officially and on the record that there is NO other website out there that has the proper authorization to broadcast Ghost Adventures. We are the ONLY one's expressly authorized by Travel Channel. Now in today's online world I realize that doesn't mean much. But here's what's really bad:
This website is charging people an access fee of like $10 per month or $50 for lifetime membership to watch most of the tv shows. Now think about this: This site is taking someone else's copyrighted content and making money off it. On top of that, they're ripping you off in the process... all the while laughing on their way to the bank.
FOLKS: DO NOT pay a fee to Extreme Ghost Hunters to watch anything on their website. These people are just crooks. It's highly illegal for them to make you line THEIR pockets with YOUR money just to watch someone else's work. It's the same thing as buying a book, copying it and then reselling it, keeping the profits. And somewhere on their site it say something like: "I need help to pay for something my daughter broke, please buy a subscription". Are you kidding me?? Talk about terrible acting!
For us, it's not about having competition, since that exists everyday on the web. And that's a good thing. Competition is great. But the problem with this other website is that they are making a living off of YOUR money... by making you pay to watch someone else's copyrighted work. Showing paranromal tv shows on your website if fine, even if you're not authorized. That's just your problem when NBC Universal or Paramount comes knocking. But scamming people out of hard-earned money, especially in today's horrible economy, is just disgusting.
Whatever you do, DO NOT SUPPORT EXTREME GHOST HUNTERS... AND DO NOT PAY A CENT ON THEIR WEBSITE! Everything there can be seen elsewhere online for free. Much of it can be seen here. This guy just built this website solely as a way to make money. That's exactly what we don't need in this field. His site is fueled by the desire for money, NOT passion for the paranormal. Yeah, as if we all need more frauds in the online world!
